Concept

LUZE is a café located in Xalapa, Veracruz—a city known for its rich coffee culture. The space is set within a house over 100 years old, featuring traditional architecture that adds character and history to the experience. It blends a contemporary, artistic atmosphere with a curated mix of vintage and modern elements, showcasing work from local artists. The goal was to develop a visual identity that reflects this creative, eclectic environment while connecting with a young, culturally engaged audience.

LUZE es un café ubicado en Xalapa, Veracruz, una ciudad reconocida por su rica cultura cafetalera. El espacio se encuentra dentro de una casa con más de 100 años de antigüedad, cuya arquitectura tradicional aporta carácter e historia a la experiencia. El lugar combina una atmósfera contemporánea y artística con una curaduría de elementos vintage y modernos, además de obra de artistas locales. El objetivo fue desarrollar una identidad visual que reflejara este entorno creativo y ecléctico, conectando con una audiencia joven y culturalmente activa.

Solution

The brand identity was developed to capture the warmth and character of the space through a cohesive system of logo, color palette, typography, and illustrations. The visual language combines organic shapes and handcrafted details to reflect both tradition and contemporary design. Custom illustrations were created as part of the visual system and later translated into large-scale ceramic tile murals by a fine artist, becoming a central feature of the café’s terrace. These elements extend the brand beyond print and digital into the physical environment, reinforcing the café’s identity as a space where art, culture, and community intersect. The menu design and supporting visuals were carefully crafted to maintain consistency across all touchpoints, creating an immersive and memorable brand experience.

La identidad de marca fue desarrollada para capturar la calidez y el carácter del espacio a través de un sistema coherente de logotipo, paleta de color, tipografía e ilustraciones. El lenguaje visual combina formas orgánicas y detalles artesanales para reflejar tanto la tradición como un diseño contemporáneo. Se crearon ilustraciones personalizadas como parte del sistema visual, que posteriormente fueron traducidas a murales de mosaico cerámico a gran escala realizados por una artista plástica, convirtiéndose en un elemento central de la terraza del café. Estos recursos extienden la marca más allá de lo impreso y digital hacia el entorno físico, reforzando la identidad de LUZE como un espacio donde arte, cultura y comunidad se encuentran. El diseño del menú y los elementos visuales de apoyo fueron cuidadosamente desarrollados para mantener consistencia en todos los puntos de contacto, creando una experiencia de marca inmersiva y memorable.
